Came up with this recipe when there was this leftover dal and i had no clue what to do with it and an idea which came out to be really good and tasty!!
YOU NEED .....
Only Chana dal - 1cup
Onion - 1 medium size (finley chopped)
Tomato - 1 medium size(finely chopped)
Salt and garam masala
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS
Soak 1 cup chana dal in water for about 2hrs till it swells.
In a pan on medium flame pour 1tbsp of ghee , add 2 red chillies, finely chopped onion fry them a little bit till the onions become golden brown then add tomatoes salt to taste and 1/2 tsp garam masala ,saute for two minutes, add dal and turn off the fire.
When the batter cools down pour it in a mixer and make a fine paste.(for mixing, if the batter seems to be thick you can add little water ).
Pour the batter in a container and start kneading by adding 1/2 cup of whole wheat (the quantity of water used for kneading should be only to the extent that the dough is soft and if the quantity of whole wheat increases the taste would not be good)
Make small balls out of the dough , then taking one ball on a flat surface("chakla") flatten it into a round shape(roti/chapati) using roller ("belan") .
Put the roti/chapati on the pan("tava) and cook it using ghee on medium flame till it becomes crispy.
Your hot dal paratha is ready...
Eat it with any pickle of your choice but it tastes best with red chilli pickle!!!
For me it is mouth watering!!!
